When life and work are moving fast, it can feel genuinely hard to opt out of the hustle and constant busy-ness. Slowing down often sounds simple, but in reality it can take more energy than we have. That’s where an activity like colouring can help.

Mindfulness Through Colouring In

Colouring in gives your hands something to focus on, gently settles your nervous system, and brings you back into the present moment without needing to overthink it.

A quiet way to step off the hamster wheel, even just for a few minutes.

Created Slowly, With Calm in Mind

These colouring page designs are all hand drawn by me, slowly and intentionally.

Creating colouring pages is a mindful activity in itself. I love sitting with a design, choosing words that feel steady and supportive, and imagining how someone might colour it in.

The experience of colouring has a way of bringing you back into the present moment, especially when your inner thoughts feel a little too busy.

These aren’t generic designs or AI-generated colouring sheets. Every line and word is my own design, carefully considered and created with calm in mind.

What You’ll Find In These Free Colouring Sheets

Below are 6 free printable colouring pages for personal use. Each colouring page features a mindful mantra paired with a simple design, often an everyday moment, making them a perfect addition to your fridge, wall or bulletin board as a visual reminder to slow down and reset.

You’ll notice:

  • positive messages and motivational quotes

  • clean, calming layouts with room to breathe

  • intricate designs without feeling overwhelming

  • a focus on growth mindset and positive affirmations

They’re intentionally created to support calm and focus, rather than overstimulation. You can colour them with bright colours or keep things soft and minimal depending on your mood.

Every page holds different meanings depending on where you’re at.

I love this quote that was often said by Louise Hay – because it’s a powerful grounding message for when you’re getting caught up in the overwhelm and busy-ness of life. All might not *actually* be well, but you can tell yourself it is and tap into even a moment of calm amongst the chaos.

Keeping hands busy through craft like colouring in, means your brain can wander and helps to process thoughts subconciously. It also enforces a break from scrolling because you’ll find it’s pretty trick to colour while also doomscrolling the gram!

One thought, one task, one moment at a time. The methodical process of coloring along with this mantra to slow it down, is a wonderful way to help you wind down and get out of your ‘monkey mind’ busy, overthinking state.

Ahhh calm over chaos. I love this quote – because we are more connected now than any generation before us and boy, don’t we feel that? Choose a moment of calm to colour in this design, and opt out of the chaos – even it it’s just for twenty minutes.

As they say –  inch by inch, life’s a cinch. The message of small changes adding up is no new phenomenon (Atomic Habits, anyone?) which is why I thought it would make a lovely mantra to colour in.

The sleepy stars, moon and clouds of this design invite you to wind down, regulate your nervous system and come back into your body and out of your overthinking brain state.

A Mindful Activity To Meet You Where You Are

Colouring is such a great way to slow your body and mind without needing to “do” anything perfectly.

It supports fine motor skills, focus and emotional regulation, making it a powerful mindfulness tool for adults and kids alike.

These mindfulness colouring pages are designed to help you pause, breathe and reconnect, whether you’re a busy mum needing a brain break, a corporate hustler trying to unwind after a long day, or a young adult looking for a relaxing activity that doesn’t involve a screen.

They’re also a beautiful option for:

  • social emotional learning moments

  • morning work or early finishers

  • mental health check-ins

  • personal growth and positive thinking

  • visual arts or creative activity time

A Calming Creative Process

There’s something deeply grounding about knowing a piece of art was created by hand. Bringing these colouring pages to life are part of my own creative practice, rooted in visual arts and graphic arts, and inspired by traditions of slow, intentional making.

I genuinely hope that intentional creation comes through when you colour them. That you feel a sense of care in the lines, and that the colouring page becomes a small pocket of calm in your day.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply giving yourself permission to stop. These pages are a gentle nudge to do just that.
